Long Hill Baptist Church is a smaller, more traditional church where Christ is changing lives.

What’s it like here?

  • Our services include traditional hymn-singing and a sermon that will provide Biblical answers to important questions;

  • Here, people learn what it means to have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. And believers grow in their faith;

  • Young people enjoy being here. However, we are not an entertainment-oriented church. Our priority is Christ-centered Bible teaching that encourages a passion for Christ and genuine spiritual growth. Learn more.

  • Handicap friendly. We offer handicap parking, a wheelchair ramp to our building, and a handicap accessible restroom near our main entrance.

When do we meet?

Join us for Sunday preaching services at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. We also have Sunday School at 10:00 AM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Bible study and prayer. Transportation and a staffed nursery are available for all services.

We hope to meet you this Sunday!

What if I didn’t grow up in a Baptist church. It’s ok! (Most of us didn’t either!)  We understand that many people aren’t sure what to expect when they get invited to visit a Baptist church.   Here’s a few details to help you know what to expect.

  • Here, everyone is welcome - regardless of where you're from or where you live.  Our people come from throughout the area. Most of our members and visitors live in Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Bridgeport. Others travel from the New Haven area. Some of us are professional people.  Others work in the trades, retail and manufacturing.  Some are students.  Others are retirees.  Many of us are from New England.  Others come from around the world.

  • Our church services are fairly traditional – there’s no loud music or flashy lighting here.  We sing traditional hymns such as Amazing GraceHow Great Thou Art, and Blessed Assurance.  Our musical instruments include piano and sometimes acoustic guitar;

  • Visitors don’t need to give an offering unless they desire;

  • We take care not to embarrass visitors in any way.  We won’t call you out and we don’t have a “handshake time.”  That said, you will find our members to be welcoming and friendly;

  • Our morning services begin at 11:00 and usually end around 12:15. We sing several hymns and the pastor preaches a practical message from the Bible.   The pastor teaches people to understand what the Bible says and how it applies to our lives;

  • Christ is at the center of all that we do.  We want people to understand why faith in Christ matters so much;

  • We can offer a ride to church if needed.  Our church van picks people up throughout the greater Bridgeport area.  Call for a ride at 203-268-5104.

Please consider attending an upcoming service.   Our services are held on Sundays at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  We also have Bible study (for all ages) onWednesdays at 7:00 PM.  A staffed nursery is available all services.
